Our Studio

Our studio spans two levels and is located on Manhattan’s Upper East Side. This unique location features an intimate ground floor studio for Chaise’s signature Reinvention Method workouts and a second floor for traditional Pilates sessions; reformers, cadillac, pilates chair, and ladder barrel.

Why Chaise Fitness?

What makes Chaise different from other Pilates studios? Using the fundamentals of Pilates we focus on helping you build a stronger core and mind-body connection to live a better, stronger, more active lifestyle. You will never suffer from fitness fatigue by keeping your mind and body challenged through our customizable private sessions or small group classes.

All of our instructors have completed comprehensive Pilates mat and apparatus certifications. Combine your Pilates work with TRX, or Chaise’s signature Reinvention Method - using overhead bungees and resistance bands. Try BandSculpt and a Reformer workout one day, Cardio intervals with the chair and bungees the next day. We design truly individualized fitness programs that are results driven and based on your needs. As life changes, so too, will your workout.

ChaiseFitness is a family founded, comprehensive, friendly studio where you can explore and challenge your body with unique and tried and true fitness methods.

We believe:

  • Pilates is for the person looking to build long, lean muscles.

  • Pilates is for the person looking to improve posture, flexibility and strength.

  • Pilates is for the person rehabbing an injury.

  • Pilates is for the person looking for a safe effective pre and postnatal workout.

  • Pilates is for everyone.

Meet the Founders

Lauren and Rachel Piskin make up the mother/daughter power duo that created ChaiseFitness. Their respective backgrounds in competitive figure skating and ballet are the roots of their lifelong passion for health and wellness.

Lauren has been serving Pilates to the Upper East Side for over 15 years with her original Pilates studio, PhysicalMind Studio and then with the opening of ChaiseFitness. She always wanted to “get Pilates off of its back and bring it into the modern upbeat vibe of New York City,” but it wasn’t until Rachel’s ballet career came to an end that she started developing a way to make that happen. Rachel was struggling to maintain the healthy lifestyle she always had from dance, so she and Lauren began to experiment and create a new type of fitness experience that eventually gave her an even stronger and healthier physique. ChaiseFitness and the Reinvention Method were born from Lauren’s professional experience and refined by Rachel’s personal journey to help everyone create long lean muscles, increase flexibility, and transform their bodies.
